Tahrir Square Dance - The Kominas
Remember this song by American Pakistani punk band The Kominas? It’s dedicated to the Egyptians and their powerful revolution. The video - originally compiled by the Kominas band members - is a collection of clips from the movement. My two favorites are of 1) A young Egyptian girl openly criticizing the soldiers in front of her. 2) A large group of Egyptians standing in lines performing salat while an army tank shoots water at them a few feet away. That shit hurts but no one moved. That’s some admirable strength right there.
Sending Pakistani love to all Egyptians with this song by The Kominas. You guys are inspirational.
Pakistani punks for Egyptians punks. Good luck with the coming elections.
